Spring Coast Adventure
Spring is such a special time of year in Oregon. Flowers are blooming, the sun is shining more, and people are itching to get out and explore.
Here is some inspiration for your next trip to the Northern Oregon Coast. Please check with businesses in advance to check on their hours etc... especially with Covid guidelines changing.
Good ol' fashioned fun: Young at heart, or traveling with young kids? Visit the Seaside Carousel Mall, Seaside Aquarium, or Seaside Inverted Experience (appointments only). Stuff your face at Bruce's Candy Kitchen (Cannon Beach and Seaside), or Schwieterts Cone and Candy in Cannon Beach.
Take it easy: Is your trip a chance to reset? Sleep in, beach comb, or explore art galleries and tax free shopping. Visit Haystack Rock and enjoy a drive along the coastline. Try to visit at low tide and see what you can discover. Pop into a book store and enjoy some coffee while you relax and unwind.
History Buff: Start your journey at the statue of Lewis and Clark at the turnaround in Seaside. Head north to Fort Clatsop (location of Lewis and Clark's 1805-06 winter encampment), and head north another 7.5 miles to Hammond to see the wreck of the Peter Iredale Ship located in Fort Stevens. Explore the military site at Fort Stevens, and enjoy the many bike paths, picnicking areas and Coffenbury Lake.
Adventurous: If you're an adrenaline junkie, the aerial challenge course at Highlife Adventure Park may just be your thing.
Outdoor Adventurer: rent a kayak, or tandem bike. Go on a hike, enjoy a beautiful view. So many possibilities. The cove is a beautiful spot in Seaside to just watch the waves roll in. You have a high chance of seeing surfers here too.
